Week Snippet #1

My week (Monday 25th - Sunday 31st)

Monday

Blogging with the essentials (tea, notepad, computer) and a light spot of baking at 9pm.When you've got the baking feeling you just have to grasp that moment.

Tuesday:

The depressing end of the holiday :(

Wednesday:

In search of my autumn coat. How relaxing is online shopping?!

Thursday:

Booking a trip to London and buying a last minute festival ticket.

Friday:

A little bit of shopping never hurt anybody. The Body Shop products smell like heaven.

Saturday:

Jospop 2014, you were amazing and extremely muddy! ( I might have had a little slip and fall, no shame. My clothes were covered in mud.)

Sunday:

A lovely family party for my nans birthday. As always there was a hell of a lot of food and enough energy to last for a week.

To all of you who are returning to the depths of hell a.k.a school, good luck! Just work hard and you'll be fine! Hope you enjoyed this post!

My Morning Skincare

I'm not one of those blogger that uses 10 skincare products, I'm just too lazy. I want to keep it simple but effective (and also cheap). The routine that I'm currently in to has worked for me, so for the time being I'm going to stick to it.

Step One: the cleansing

I use a bog standard foaming face wash: The Beauty Formulas Vitamin E Foaming Facial Wash. It's just your basic face wash that removes dirt, make-up, impurities and leaves the skin feeling clean but not tight and uncomfortable. It has a simple soap fragrance. I personally use this in the morning and the evenings. It hasn't broken me out  (so far so good) so I'm going to continue using it.

Step Two: the exfoliation

I exfoliate once a week to get rid of the dead skin cells. For this I've also been using a drugstore exfoliator: The Clean&Clear Exfoliating Daily Wash.  This one has nearly run out so I've already purchased a new one, The Good Things Deep Clean Blackhead Exfoliator. Both of them are gentle and leave my skin feeling nice and soft.

Step Three: moisturising

I use The Simple Kind To Skin Protecting Light Moisturiser. This is a great basic moisturiser with SPF 15. With my fair complexion I'm prone to burn so this little extra protection is just what I need. It's not sticky and it has no added fragrance so it's perfect for sensitive skin. I honestly love it. It's basically softness, moisturisation and protection in a bottle.

Step Four: SPF

For this step I use The Kiko City Filter Sunscreen Primer. It's a primer that forms a protective layer on the skin that blocks out the impurities in the air and it protects you from UV rays with its SPF 50. Even if it didn't do its primer job, making my make-up last, I just keep using it for it high SPF factor. The fragrance is very pleasant and not overpowering.

So that concludes my morning skincare routine. Simple, short, hassle-free and just perfect for me.

5 Product Face Challenge

I first saw this tag on Becca Rose's channel. I thought I would set myself the challenge and give it a try. * Challenge Accepted* . I did my best to create a full face of make-up with only these 5 products.

Number One - Face

The Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - 02 Cold Medium

I Um'd and Ur'd about whether to go for concealer or a light foundation that could double up as a concealer. In the end I wanted a really natural look so I went for just a concealer. This is what a go for on a daily basis anyway.

Number Two - Face

The Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - 001 Transparent

To set the concealer I just added some powder. I do need a powder because ain't nobody got time for shine. The one I usually go for is this one, it's a good'n!

Number Three - Eyebrows

The Maybelline BrowDrama - Dark Blond

This bad boy adds colour to your brows whilst setting them in place so they don't go rogue during the day. It's a recent purchase but I really enjoy using it.

Number Four - Lashes

 Maybelline The Falsies Mascara

If I had to choose one make-up product, it would be mascara. I love my eyes to look big and open, eye-catching. A mascara I would recommend to everyone is this one, it gives volume and it lengthens the lashes at the same time. Definitely worth the hype!

Number Five - Cheeks

The Sleek Faceform Palette - Fair

On a daily basis, when I go to school, I don't wear blush or contour/highlight but as it's still holiday I chose to go for a bit of enlightment, the middle one. I like a good glow to the skin and this highlighter provides just that.

I hope you enjoyed this challenge and I tag all of you to go and have a look at your make-up stash and try to 'make' your face with only five products.
